Here is a partial list of publications and projects I have worked on over the year

 

White House Office of Science and Technology: Served as a representative of the Water Sector to regional and national conferences to assess the potential impacts of climate change.

 

US Department of Energy: One of dozens of contributors from around the world to the “International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol” which looked at how to measure energy and water efficiency programs in response to the challenges of climate change. I served on the Water Subcommittee.  

 

Pacific Northwest National Labs/Battelle: Works as a subcontractor for a “greening of the White House” project and provide advice on water efficiency measures for the president’s office. 

 

City of Ann Arbor Energy Office: Part of a 2-person team that did a complete “energy make over” of all the city’s buildings and infrastructure; which lead to huge financial savings due to energy efficiency and included putting solar panels on the city’s swimming pool. 

 

Municipal Water District of Southern California (serving 19 million people): part of a team of 4 providing a critique of the water utilities best management practices for water efficiency for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

 

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency: Worked on a nationwide futures scenario building project involving leaders in the municipal water supply field.

 

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency:  Lead a crew and compiled data for one of the early municipal waste stream assessment surveys to determine how much of the material going to landfills was potentially recyclable. 

 

City of Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Jackson County, Kalamazoo, Aspen, Snowmass, Los Angeles, and other communities: Worked on recycling, energy efficiency and/or water efficiency plans.

 

John E. Wiley, Encyclopedia of Energy Technologies and the Environment, wrote entries for water efficiency and energy efficiency. 

 

German Ministry of the Environment, was paid to present on waste management trends in the United States.  

 

Sustainability Center of the Rockies/Third Street Center: Founder and participant in a project to transform a former elementary school into a green community center, complete with eco friendly construction materials and solar panels.
