Scott Chaplin served the Town of Carbondale as a member of the Environmental Board, the Planning and Zoning Commission and as an elected Trustee. He served with me when I was Mayor as well as for a short time while I was the Chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission.

He was a visionary leader in our community on many issues, but particularly on affordable housing and community planning. Scott founded the Sustainability Center of the Rockies, which eventually merged with other organizations to form one of Carbondale's star jewels, the Third Street Center and affordable housing project. Judging by the work Scott did on the Carbondale town council and the community-based work he has done over the years, I believe that he will be an incredible asset and an exceptional leader to any organization.
